Dr. Sonny D. Hatcher is an Army Veteran who currently serves as the Assistant Director for the Defense Contract Management Agency, Small Business Compliance Group. He manages Large Prime Contractors Subcontracting Program Compliance which in FY22 led to $17 Billion in subcontracting dollars being awarded to Small Businesses.

Dr. Hatcher has 28 years of acquisition experience in both pre-award and post-award functions within the Department of Defense and the Federal government. He has held a variety of positions to include Procurement Analyst, Contract Specialist, Small Business Professional, and Assistant Director, DCMA Small Business Compliance Group.

Dr. Hatcher is a member of the Acquisition Corps, DAWIA Level III Certified in Contracting, DAWIA Level I Certified Program Management and holds the Small Business Professional Credential.

In his spare time Dr. Hatcher likes to ride on his Harley, and go tailgating at Auburn Tigers Football games! He is a volunteer Reserve Police Officer, Police Chaplain, as well as, a musician at his church. Dr. Hatcher hold a Doctoral Degree in Counseling and is currently working on his second Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice.
