Alexandra Gambardella serves as the Deputy Director of Department of Defense (DoD) Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) Case Analysis and Declarations in the Global Investment and Economic Security Directorate within the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Industrial Base Policy.
Ms. Gambardella advises the Director of DoD CFIUS Operations on the impacts of foreign investments in the United States that present national defense and security concerns. In this role, she serves as the subject matter expert on the DoD CFIUS review process and leads a team of analysts who investigate foreign investments filed with CFIUS.
Ms. Gambardella served as a DoD CFIUS Case Analyst before assuming her current position in December 2022. She has been with the DoD CFIUS team since September 2018. Before joining the DoD CFIUS team, Ms. Gambardella served as a Visa Analyst supporting the Department of State from 2014 to 2018. Ms. Gambardella has a Bachelor of Arts in Government from Georgetown University.
